For those of you with an engineering background, prepare to have your socks blown off. This is referencing fuel dilution and the subsequent consequences of intake valve carbon buildup.
This is probably because of the 0W20 oil, and thus with fuel dilution, it'll shear the oil down VERY VERY quickly if this becomes a problem, hence this sensor. Now I don't know if it's checking for actual fuel (I doubt it), but nonetheless, HOLY mother of F***!

Any Audi that runs the variable service interval has an oil quality sensor. But they don't use that system in the US historically. You can buy the 504 compliant oil though, also called ESP more generically and widely sold in Europe now. Dealers also sell it, as does ECS Tuning.
IIRC the set up can be enabled on the D4 if the system is activated via a mod. I also get a reading from the oil quality sensor when I clear the parameters after an oil change on my D4 S8. It could not be enabled on my 2006 D3, though seemed to be there physically and was used in Europe. VW's have had it all the way down to the Golf in relevant markets for some time. Goes back to the Green movement in Germany where there was a lot of pressure to extend oil intervals and decrease carbon footprint. Also probably why we have the gawd awful cartridge inserts for oil filters, which probably use 10x as much solvent to actually deal with the real world added mess they create. BMW got burned with their variable change interval system in the US (called CBS), and among reasons perceived for a whole generation of engine issues.
I am starting to use 504 oil given its better properties. It is not compatible with gas with any real sulphur in it, which delayed US use a lot. CA got the sulphur out of its gas to the Euro type spec levels some years ago now, and rest of country supposedly was supposed to cut to it by beginning of this year. I don't really know if it happened though, or there was yet more oil co. foot dragging.
