1992 100 CS

Maybe, and not sure. Need more detail :)
Unfortunately, I don't know if you have the Bose head unit in your car that has CD Changer control. If you do, then I think that the Audi CD Changer is approx $500, and is the only one that will work directly. For 1992, though, I'm not sure, as CDs still weren't as hugely popular for cars at that time.
The car likely uses Infrared remotes, I believe. Others with 100 CS's would know better, but I believe that you'd see an IR receiver on the B-Pillar on each side of the car. I also don't know what the cost of the factory remotes are.
If you would like to know what type of aftermarket keyless remote would work on this car, I am unsure. But I do know that there are some electrical gremlins that can come into play when adding on an aftermarket keyless remote, remote starter, etc. Others here that have done that in the past know what I mean, and would have more info on that.
What type of head unit is in the car now? This might help others that know more about this than I do. I just didn't want to leave you hanging without an answer for too long .

Yes, you have IR; receivers are black (?) rectangular plastic things on the B-pillar..<more>
...but I also don't know about aftermarket IR transmitters. I'm afraid you may need to get one from an Audi dealer, but they are pricy I believe. Also I don't know about adding CD to the Bose head; I have the Audi/Bose 10-CD changer (in the trunk), and the head unit has the controls "built in," a radio/CD mode button, up & down buttons for disk and track, etc. (Plus a cassette unit) Do you have those buttons on yours?

Re: Yes, you have IR receivers they are black rectangular plastic things on the B-pillar
You can also look at your keys. If you have one that holds 4 batteries - you have an IR key. If you have the IR receivers on your B-pillars (about 2 x 1/2 inch and protrudes about 1/2 inch - you can't miss them if you have them) and don't have an IR key, that's where I would start. Keys are about $116.00 (read I paid) from the dealer. Muhammad indicated to me before: that the IR sensors (b-pillar) don't last for ever and may also need to be replaced. All I can tell you is that I purchased my 94 100CS and then discovered it had IR locks, I ordered a key and after programming (simple) it works fine on both sides of the car. Hope this helps...

Re: The part # is...
4A0-837-220-B-01C (Key Blank). It was $111.30 from my dealer. Again my car is a 94 100CS so beware of that just in case there is any difference from your 92 model (can't imagine, but who knows) - Good Luck!
