Re: '93 100 ATF change
not sure if the 93' is the same as my 92', I know the tranny's are different, but you just have to drop the pan. There is no drain plug, and you fill through the dipstick tube (thats if you have one, otherwise I don't know) Good luck.

Re: '93 100 ATF change
There should be a dipstick tube(red cap behind the driver side head). You can fill through the tube. My '94 has the tube, but no dipstick. Check the manual to see how much fluid to add when doing a filter change. Does anybody know if there is an inspection hole to see if the tranny is full(or over full??)

Dipstick is P/N 01F 321 431 A. That's how you check the level.

A6Gary....got a question for you about the dipstick....
On my 94 100S, as mentioned above, there is no dipstick..just a tube with a cap. So can I use the Audi dipstick from the 92 parts car I have to check the fluid level in my tranny?
Also just wanted to say that I enjoy reading your comments on this forum. You've been very helpful to me in the past. Thanks. |
Be careful...
I had my mechanic perform this task. It cost me $180 a couple of years ago. He added something called 'whale oil' to the transmission fluid when he change it out. Transmission was super smooth once the fluid was replaced and worked great until my car was recently totalled (another post).
For questions, contact my mechanic Ron Wood at (714) 848-3766.

Great Audi Mechanic will give you free advice

|
Yes, the dipstick should be the same for all C4s that had the tube. Glad I could helped you.
