I have a 94 Audi 100 S, 128K miles. Recently, on the highway, I suddenly felt a loss of power, and the engine rpm started to fluctuate wildly between 2K & 3K, and the low engine oil light came on. I pulled over, and restarted the car and everything was fine. This happened twice on that drive. The same exact thing happenend one year ago, and it was fine until the last time it happened. My mechanic is totally clueless about the problem. Any inputs will be greatly appreciated. If it is of any help, I have noticed a drop in fuel efficieny (almost 3-4 mpg lesser).

WHEN THAT HAPPENS U HAVE TO PULL OVER AND CHECK THE OIL LEVEL.DO U KNOW THE OIL PRESSURE AT THE TIME?CHECK FOR LEAKS
