Fuel Pump?

Fuel Pump?
I have decided to put my 95 A6 back on the road, after a year of sitting in the garage. Before it went down, I was driving and it just gradually cut off like it had ran out of fuel. I tried to restart, but it would crank for a minute, then cut off. I had fuel in it, because I put some in the previous night.(89 octane) I was told it could be the fuel pump. Where is the fuel pump located and is it a DYI job? Can some one help me out, thanks?
