Headlamp bulbs
Any recommendations on headlamp bulbs? Mine are working but kinda dim, and I'd like to upgrade if possible. Any concerns about having to upgrade wiring when upgrading bulbs?
Thanks!
Thanks!

The headlamps on our A6-C4 are notorious for poor output. Any good lamps from the auto parts store would be fine. There is a write up about cleaning the lenses..Stripping and cleaning A6 headlights - Audifans.net
I am looking for some E code glass to swap out from the DOT glass..as an experiment to improve the lighting. I made the swap on my Cabriolet and it was a great improvement with stock bulbs..might work on the A6

Thanks for the response, Rusty. That write-up is great, but I think a bigger issue for mine is that the glass is pitted from mountain driving. I don't think there is much to be done about that other than to replace them. When you say "E code glass" what do you mean by that?

E code are the euro lenses. The USA DOT lenses are, no surprise, almost unsafe due to concerns about glare..the euro car specs did not have the same concerns and the beam spread is improved.
I have used this ebay seller and have no complaints..quality and it takes a while to get here from Latvia..about two weeks.

He will give a break on shipping for both about $7
If your glass is pitted..this may be a solution.

So I found these on eBay this morning. Seems to be exactly what I am looking for- any thoughts?

Understood, but unlike glass, the plastic ones can be polished whenever they get cloudy or scratched. I do that periodically with the lenses on my Accord- easy job, light pass with some 1000 grit wet sandpaper, and then a good polish with some plexiglass cleaner... 10 minutes and they look like new... My glass ones are so pitted I have no real choice but to replace them. I found some brand new glass Hella lenses locally on Craigslist- the guy wants $100 for the pair. I may think about those even though I would like to try the E-glass or the plastic ones..
