Im back

So after a long leave from the audi world, I had sold my previous 96 A6 avant quattro and moved on. I got a 97 A6 sedan quattro for dirt cheap. had loads of miles and it didn't have a blow headgasket like stated it needed a t-stat. I sold that and bought a 2002 BMW 325xi and now have that and my brand new old 97 A6 quattro back for $400 cuz the lady didn't want it anymore. So I will be doing some work to it as its running horrible, but with 212k plus miles what's to expect.

So its got a lean code and multiple misfires and no power with a hell of a hesitation when trying to accelerate. Im gona be doing some searching and pokeing around to try and get her back into running condition. I just got a new cam adjuster seal to stop the ticking or see if that helps and ill move on from there. So ill be hopeing to hear from you all again.

Fuel pressure, filter, pump, dirty injectors.

Good deal..

yea im gona take the injectors out and take a look. I did some searching and I gues I don't have a cam tensioner seal, cuz I don't have a 30v. I told vw that it was a 12v and they still sold me the part so dam they got me for 8 bux.

Just out the coil packs and plugs/wires too... But you sound like you knew that :)

My car is doing the same thing. I got a PO1074 code... Too lean, hesitates when accelerating. Please tell me the order of what I should replace first, probably the least expensive things. Like a fuel filter? Thanks in advance!

Check all the vacuum hoses..and better still..just plan on changing all of them. New spark plugs..new fuel filter..new air filter and a good once over for air leaks around the injectors and intake..you can use some carb cleaner and spray, with care, at various locations to see if the idle changes with the engine running.

Breathing new life into my A6

Great how to video. Changed mine today and saw instant improvement in acceleration and idle. Still laggie though... Found my crankcase breather hose was broken. Tomorrow's project!
