Need Help Installing Trunk Strut Replacements
Hey all!
Need some help, I bought these MEISTERSATZ brand struts on ebay but have no idea how to install them on my car.
Here they are:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AUDI-100-A6-S4-Sedan-Trunk-Shocks-Struts-Lift-Supports_W0QQitemZ8030380562QQcategoryZ33646QQssPa geNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
The ones on my car already have these metal pieces that snapped onto each end of the strut and help it in place (I assume) but these MEISTERSATZs have no such pieces. So what exactly do I do? I didn't wanna force it in or anything so if I have to, I can send them back.
Thanks a lot guys!!

I have those same one
after you pull your old ones and clean the ball joint.. pull the metal clips from the new ones
place it on the ball joint and then put the clips back in..
since they are new and a little longer than the original they are hard to get on..
I did the bottom part first then used the lid to compress it, held on tight so it would not extend and slowlt got it on the ball joint on the lid.. took and hour to do the first side and 10 min to do the second..
by the way you could of gotten them cheaper

Cheaper where - and do they have Avant lift struts
I wish a pair for the Avant were only $42. So if they can be had cheaper, then perhaps this place also has the Avant struts for cheaper than the typical $90-$100/pair.

I got mine from autohaus AZ, the avants is $47.26 because its boge
they don't seem to have an aftermarket brand for the avants...
the ebay guy seems to have a better deal on those<ul><li><a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AUDI-100-A6-Wagon-Rear-Trunk-Hatch-Shocks-Struts_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33646QQitemZ2454 632038">Avant trunk Struts</a></li></ul>

Re: I have those same one
See the thing is, there are no clips to pull, or maybe I'm not seeing them. Unless I'm not seeing something right. The current ones (old) had clips but these new ones look like they're supposed to fit around the ball.
So confused!
