My coolant reservoir tanks gets Pretty HOT, is this normal for C4's .

The expansion hose coming from upper radiator tank gets very hot as well

PS. Earlier i had problem with coolant boiling out of the reservoir. Nowadays it doesn't happen but the tank gets hot and seems to have pressure in the system

Unlike domestic systems that have overflow tanks, the reservoir is an intrical part of the cooling system. Coolant will flow through it, so it will indeed get hot.

The Expansion tank is part of the pressurized cooling system, with the cap having a pressure rating above which it will allow coolant to escape.

I've only compared it with a new A6 though it gets hot but seems to be normal in normal range

But mine gets Very hot even on idle speed so wondering if the cooling system is working properly
Think its time to do radiator Flush?

Btw i've over tightened the cap so that coolant will not escape like before. This seems to have worked but wondering if this is recommended or not. Will this over pressurizer not allowing air to escape?

It used to get coolant out of the cap . Now that i have tightened the cap very well it dosn't happen that often.

Do you think the radiator needs to be cleaned?
