Default Parking brake hijinks

My parking brake doesn't SEEM to work at all. Any ideas on that? I pull the lever, the light comes on, but no stopping takes place.

I can literally push the car using my 145lbs of man-muscle with the parking brake active. My mop-handles-and-yarn built body shouldn't be capable of such a feat.

I've been thinking about joining the circus, but I need to know if maybe, just maybe, the parking brake is broked.

Default Check the parking brake by removing one of the rear wheels, pull the lever, & then see if...

the lever on the caliper rotates. If it doesn't, then your the cable is probably broken. If caliper lever does rotate, then check your pads and rotor for wear. You didn't mention if braking during driving is normal or not. That could also be an indicator of caliper/pad problems.

My [0] light comes on about once a month, but Midas has told me that my pads/rotors are fine on more than one occasion. I'm betting it's the cable. Luckily I never use the parking brake.
