Default Timing Belt Removal

I just need to know if I need to remove the pulley on my '92 2.8 to get the timing belt off the crank.

Remove the vibration dampener from the timing belt gear and the timing belt cover. However, before you remove the timing belt you need to use the cam alignment tool on the camshafts and to lock the crankshaft.
The timing belt gear only needs to be removed if the cranksaft seal needs to be replaced.

You must have the cam lock bar and the cam pully puller set. you CAN NOT do a proper timing belt job without them. You must break the pullys loose so they spin free, and use the bar to lock the cams, make sure the belt is tensioned properly and the crank is dead on mark and the cams are locked and tighten the cam pulleys down. You will NEVER tension the belt correctly nor have the timing right on if not done this way. Painting on marks and half assing it is a **** poor way to do it.

The bar costs like 50-60 bucks online and the puller kit costs less than 100. Dont bother spending time and energy and shipping borrowing them. Just buy them, and be happy you can service your car any time.
