Default Transmission shifting problem

My 92 100s shifts like a champ for about the first 10 minutes of driving, after that it will slam itself into 2nd gear and won't shift into any higher gears. If you stop and shut the car off for about 10 minutes, it will shift through all the gears with no problem for about 5-10 minutes and then it will develope the same problem no higher gear than 2nd?
I did a full trans service and the fluid was flawless, old but not burned up, no filings in the pan no friction materials in the fluid.
The problem happened instantly and with no warnings? any sugestions?

Default Sounds like an electrical problem......

If the car shifts normal after shutting off the car, then it's probably electrical. I had a very similiar problem and it turned out to be a solenoid in the valve body. Check your codes with a Vag-Com, there would be codes for it in their.

Also, see if you can manualy shift from 1st, to 2nd, and to 3rd. I found that when mine wouldn't shift, I could get it to shift manually through the first 3 gears, and it shifted great which told me it wasn't the tranny and was electrical.

Let me know what you find and I can help point you in the right direction. Good Luck.

Default you will need to check it by vag, I have a good 92 valve body if needed

I have a complete 92 tranny with a good valve body, my 2ond gear band went on mine, and I had the valve body tested first, my guess would be valve body/ solinoids, or possibly when i went thru mine, I found Audi had a problem on some of the cars their is a possibiblity the wire harness can be bad, lift up the car and check the wire harness comming from the tranny, right where it first attaches to the frame it can get worn, start their first, unless you have a Vag.
if you need a valve body send me a email you can have the whole thing for $75 shipped, or for $230 i will sell you my vag-com with laptop and give you the valve body.
but check the wires first.. maybe you will get lucky.
