Default updated replacement Audi cruise control module

As most of us have experienced the original cruise control module 4D0907305 on our cars is fragile, developing cracks in the solder points and intermittently not working or failing completely. There is a cottage industry repairing the units and some DIY write ups too.

Used units are hit or miss too. It is just older electrical assembly technology with 1990s component design. Not really up to date internally.

As an experiment I got an OEM VW 4B0907305 cruise control unit brand new from the bay for $80..free shipping.

The new VW unit is much smaller..with the same mounting points..I suspect the circuit board and assembly techniques are more modern..it has the same plug connector too.

Replaced the CC module on my Cabriolet..same CC module is used in my A6-C4 (4D0907305 original) that was still working..and the new VW 4B0907305 part works great..more responsive for sure. Plug and Play.

So if your CC is not working and you are confident your CC module is defective..look for a 4B0907305 CC module used in a 1998 to 2001 VW Passat and Euro Vans till 2004..or check out the bay and watch..there still are a few left at $80 new.
