Variable Intake system possible?

Nissan has a bolt on Variable intake set up for their engines that gives like 45hp on the v6 3.0
cant someone develop something like this for us?

The A8 V8 has variable runners. The problem with the V6 is limited demand = limited development $

It takes a lot of dyno time to develop an intake runner system of variable length. Basically you can think of an intake runner as a resonator. It will resonate best at a certain frequency. Longer runners, like Organ pipes, resonate at lower frequencies, and thus lower engine RPMs, giving better torque. Shorter pipes resonate at higher frequencies, and thus give results in the higher ranges. By choosing two different length paths, opened and closed by flapper valves, you can get each path to resonate at different frequencies, and thus spread out the torque curve.

The problem is that it takes a lot of development & dyno time to get it to work. Not that many Audi v-6 owners are that performance minded (in total numbers) plus there is the split of some 12V and some 30V. This makes our cars VERY limited markets, compared to say a Honda where there literrally are hundreds of "performance" people per Audi fan. We can debate the performance of most ricer cars, but the point remains that volume is where it is at, so popular makes sell product, where as adult driven limited market cars, perf parts sell poorly.

Perhaps the A8 system could be adapted to our cars. If you are good at molding plastic, and aren't afraid to use your car as a guinea pig, then why not? Give it a try!

I doubt A8 can be adapted, but if Nisan has 60dig. V6, it should be the same.

All V6 with the same angle between heads must work on the same frequancy. BTW 45hp is quite a lot of extra hps. Does it mean, that system would run lean? If it will, it is not good.

Is there a chence, we can get a reference to the Nisan system site?

nice. BTW it looks like it has only two positions: short and long.

Not like Porsche with infinitly variable intake.
Ok, does anybody knows what is the RPMs, where C4 A6 stock intake is most effective?

The Audi 2.8 V6 has a variable 2 stage resonance intake manifold (from the factory).

12V or 30V or both?

Excuse my ignorance, this is my first V6 Audi. Had a ton of other brands before, with 3-12 cylinders, but all of my VW/Audi experience is 4 cylinder.
