Default VW/Audi Power steering fluid

The nearest Audi dealer (Morrison in Anchorage) is over 400 miles away, so while I was in town, I decided to pick up some parts. I walked out of there having paid 3x what I thought I would and zero confidence they gave me *any* correct part.

I've been poking around the forums, it seems that "G 002 000" or "G 002 012" is the fluid to use. They handed me "G 004 000 M2". Is this an updated fluid that's still appropriate for a '93?

It does list "white mineral oil" as the #3 content and that I can mix it with the above mentioned fluids.

G 004 000 M2 is the updated # for G 002 000. G 002 012 is just the smaller bottle.

Default At least you didn't have them work on your car, they told me...

their mechanics aren't used to working on a car that old!!!! This forum will help you fix just about anything and they're a pretty cool group of guy's. 400 miles from A-town, are you in the Kenai area? I'm in Valdez.

Default This forum is the reason I can have that car here...

I would have thrown up my hands and jettisoned it long ago if not for this wonderful resource. From knowledge to the occasional part ordered from DaveInSaltLake.

I'm in Fairbanks. I decided to swing by the Morrison on my way out of Anch after a weekend ski trip and figured the dealer prices wouldn't be that much worse than the awful 2nd day air shipping prices to my house. Wrong!

Some C4's are already older than some of the dealer employees I've seen...
