1986 4000 Trunk Issues
 

Bought a ‘86 4000 today without the keys, but want to get into trunk because owner said probably loads of things in there.

Any way to get into it without the key?

If have to break it as a last resort, where can I find a new trunk cylinder?

The 4000 trunk lock is nla, but I believe you can make the 5000 lock cylinder work. 893827539

Do you think it will be a smooth fit or will I have to do anything to make it go in?
I found a cheap one on eBay and I’m willing to try, just really don’t wanna have to break this one and it not work out.

The housing around cylinder is different. The 4000 lock didn’t have to extend out as far. Those later 5000s v8 locks were integrated into the light lenses.
