'86 4000cs Quattro alternator?
The parts store quoted me almost 250 bucks for a bosch alternator. Im new to audis so is this what they run or is there a better place to get one cheaper, even a remaned one would be fine. Or if someone has a used one they would sell me. Let me know.

If you have an electric motor place nearby you can get it rebuilt for pretty cheap, usually.
Out of curiosity, do you know what's wrong with it?
If it's just the regulator, one of these is a great replacement:
Volvo Adjustable Voltage Regulators
Scroll about halfway down to "Internal Adjustable Regulator".

I havent taken it off to look at it yet but rebuilding it is an option that I can do my self just didnt think about it. I remember having to rebuild some mk2 vw's alternators and the regulators were bad all the time. I may just replace that and see where it gets me. Thanks!
