Default another engine swap question

HI guys ran into a 91 200 turbo in the junkyard today with the mc2 or mc1 i think with the automatic trans and its still mostly together minus the fuel distributor and other little things and im drooling at the idea of swapping it with my jt in my 4000 s quattro. i dont really have a place to work on the car and the cars my daily so i am torn any thoughts?

That will be an MC2, which is what I would go for if I didn't want to put any extra work or money into it. You will have to change out the auto stuff (flywheel, clutch, and I believe the pilot bearing), but people are usually easier on automatic cars, so that's a plus. You will have to specifically get an MC2 flywheel, as they are different.

If it's your daily driver then I would be hesitant. It's possible to do in a weekend, but the tiniest thing could come up and your local parts store won't have it so you're at least a couple days out having to order it from AutohausAZ or whatever...

My advice would be to make a thorough parts list (my thread has most of what you'll need in the first post), gather it all, and then the first long weekend or vacation you get, go at it and don't stop until it's running.
