Brake Brake Brake...STOP! Bigger wheels bigger brakes. Big brake solutions???

I'm looking into getting new wheels. Like 17's. And I'm looking for some decent performance quality braking. What are some good solutions from stock brakes to big brakes??? Best/worst, cheap/expensive...show me some big brake kits please?!?!??
Thank you

Lighten your car up. Instant brake solution. I hardly use my brakes on track.

Here's a link for Wilwood...

Not sure if anyone on this forum has them on their car...it says they fit 4kq/CGT's.

800 bucks aint bad for 11"...

I dont think the stock brakes suck too bad. Especially when using the diff locks under breaking.

NOT SURE!!! Jason's car is 1 of the featured cars on there : - P

Thats what I'm looking for...if I do upgrade! Thanks

And you're right stock brakes don't suck that bad...but in case I feel the need to upgrade (or spend another $800) that deff would be a good buy.
Thank you

Hey...

Be nice to me!!! :p

Only reason I even know about that particular BBK is because the BF has them on his CQ. I didn't know Jason had them...but now I do!

lol, I added the ": - P" so you'd know I was jesting

(though on the net it still didn't come across I guess)

Jason's car is

4x100, though, I think... Make sure they're 4x108's if you're ordering. Justin from RPI told me they have both.

2bennett has a monster brembo/porsche kit avail for $$$

I'm thinking about checking with billzcat(richard) to see if he can make me brackets and hats and maybe see if stoptech can supply calipers, rotors and lines do do a custom setup.
Not sure if I'll have the $$ though (probably not)

I e-mailed him just now asking some questions :)

Just need to see if he can make some 4x100 rotor hats and caliper brackets.
This all depends on if I can get some sort of sponsorship discount from Stoptech for the other parts of course.
(Ok is this going to be silly to have a non-turbo CGT with a BBK?)

- GT Style - 06-13-2005 12:35 PM

Ask him if he'll be @ Burien w/ the 100ls again

1984cgtturbo 06-13-2005 01:50 PM

Yeah, my 84 is 4x100 - but RPI has them for 4x108 I believe...

And they work very well IMO. I've been very happy with the upgrade, and for less than half what the full Brembo BBK goes for at most places.

My old 16" wheels (which are for sale BTW)

My new 17" wheels (and if you use 17"s I think you can fit RPIs 13" brake kit too)
