Can anyone verify these seats are not audi?
<center><img src="http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb31/freonzen/seats.jpg"></center><p>
I was told they are early 80's 320i seats, and I either want them out or a back seat to match because the pleatehr clashes horribly with the mangled cloth in the back.
SAre tehre any similar options for a back seat or would i be better off looking for a good interior to replace them all? (If 85 gt interior is findable in good condition.)

Looks BMW to me.....
Audi seats of the 80's typically have the "open square" style headrests. The most common stock fabric type you will see (and you have in your back seat) is called "Savoy Velor". I'd go with a stock interior, the cloth is nice, high quality and readily available, plus it'll match your door panels.

BMW, ftw!
I'd have said E30, but could be earlier 320i seats also. The upholstery doesn't hold up worth a damn, as evidenced by your liberal tape application. I was happy to bin mine at the junkyard. Comfy, though.

Duct Tape FTW!
Ya the drivers seat has some nice taping going on but the passanger seat is perfect. Found some nice recovers for them for pretty decent prices but they still wont match the back. Anyone know of anywhere in the NW where audi parts are a bit more abundant than the local U-Pullit?

I am pretty sure that they are 320i "Sport Seats". If my memory is correct, the seats are "modular". That means that if you can find a good passenger's seat, the upholstery can be moved to the driver's seat. There is the problem that the cut for the seat release will be on the wrong side.
Measure out the back seat from a BMW. The only problem is the "cut out" that Audi seats have in the middle. A good upholstery guy should be able to add that. The vinyl fabric they have access to comes in about 25 "grain" patterns.
I am having a pair of Recaros rebuilt now. The vinyl match is about perfect and the cost is fairly reasonable. So reasonable that if the pair on eBay now, at $650.00, go; mine are next.
BTW, are the seat mounts in your car fabricated, or are there standard mounts?

Re: Can anyone verify these seats are not audi?
Luckily it looks as if the seat release is on the hard plastic backing and they are actualy on both sides of the seat. Nice to know the seats are interchangable tho, i might just look for a nice passanger seat.
I cant imagine a BMW rear seat would fit but ill check it out in case i get lucky =). As for the mounts, i think the seat mounts are stock for the seats and the floor tracks are still there from the orig but i think i saw some untidy welding marks that lead me to believe they are hacked in tehre somehow.
Again, i might be lucky and all they did was drill a few holes that will need to be tapped and filled.

Mountings
Upon further inspection, it looks as if the seats are mounted to a fabricated steel frame that is tehn mounted to the original tracks, har to tell without actualy knowing what the stock mounts look like. The mountings on the seats themselves look unmolested tho.

I didn't meant the seats would interchange. What I meant is the the upholstery and the foam will.
See the link below.

BMW's have flat floors, four bolts go through the mount and into captive nuts in the floor. Someone may have just bolted them through the floor in your Audi.<ul><li><a href="http://www.esatclear.ie/~bpurcell/318isseat.html">http://www.esatclear.ie/~bpurcell/318isseat.html</a</li></ul>
