Headlights stock or aftermarket?
I have a 1986 4000 S and as I've read they apparently have terrible headlights. However, in mine the headlights are quite bright. They have an orange sidemarker however on all the lenses there is a Hella stamp. Is that who made the stock headlights? How can I find out if they are stock or not?
Thanks Ian |
Lights on late 4ks do stink. They don't put much usable light on the road. Check this....
See if the headlight has "H4" in the middle of the glass. If it does, it's a euro lamp. Also, if the glass "pattern" looks typical American (i.e. a whole slew of little rectangles or grids) then it's Amercian. I finally got euros and they make a HUGE difference. The DOT lights are awful. I think a couple of Maglights would do better! :)

I'll have fun doing the wiring so that I don't melt down the electrical system. Jon |
