Default Mechanic in Denver

I just bought a 1986 Audi 4000 CS Quattro, having missed a 1980 Audi 4000s that I learned to drive on and a 1982 Coupe GT that I owned and couldn't afford to maintain. The car doesn't start unless starting fluid is used and the throttle is fully engaged. If you let off the throttle, it dies. The previous owner said it ran "perfectly" until one day it stopped running. It sat for several months before he traced the problem to the fuel distributer. He installed a junk yard fuel distributer, but it never started and ran without starting fluid and hasn't been driven or really started for six months.
Does anyone know of a mechanic in Denver willing to work on these classic Audi's? Several places that I have called aren't willing to work on older Audi's, instead work on souping up new ones. Since the car doesn't run, I'll have to have it towed, so the closer the shop the better. I live up near Evergreen. Any help would be appreciated!

it could be somthing really simple like a bad air leak, My 4000 started running really poorly until i got a new air boot. the tiniest leaks can cause the car to not run. so check out the big black rubber thing connected to the throttle body and the air metering plate (big circle thing behind the fuel distributor) It shouldnt be a hard job if you try it yourself. if you do find a mechanic, hint to him about an air leak. i guarantee its the problem

good luck

Thanks for the reply! I'll definitely see if it is just an air-leak. Fingers crossed...

i will cross my fingers for you too

i know what its like having an Audi that doesnt run, mine was a dud in the driveway for two years!

to see if its an air leak, take a plastic bag and cover the air boot tightly. do it section by section and make sure you check were all the tubes and things plug into it. thats a common place for them to tear. make sure you listen carefully for even the slightest increase in idle.
