Mystery Light
Can anyone tell me what this little light is next to the warning lights? Only reason I ask is because I am thinking of putting the LED to my alarm there.

That's actually a light sensor so it can make the display brighter in the day and less bright at night, and it also makes it so it will flash a warning light if it's dark out and you haven't turned your headlights on. I don't know how it would behave if you removed it. With the digital dashes, though, I'm of the mind that one should let sleeping, two-headed, flesh-eating dogs lie.

Rog, do I sense a deep seeded hatred for the digidash? I am actually of the opinion that the more technology and digital crap you put in cars, the more likely something is going to break and leave you stranded, all because a $30 sensor craps out. My 1977 Gremlin is simple. If it stops running or doesn't start, it's either fuel or spark. THAT'S IT!!!
All that being said, I read on another forum of someone bypassing that sensor with a 50 ohm resistor. It leaves the dash permanently bright, so I'm wondering if I can relocate the sensor to the upper dash or somewhere else.
