Default throttle cable/ gas pedal connector

the thing that connects the throttle to the gas pedal keeps comming disconected causing me to crawl under there and fix it at inoppertune times (busy streets , merging) it seems to be that the grommet (rubber thing whatever that held it in lace has worn out any ideas?

i thoug glue but it's too tight for my mannish hands to fit a glue bottle up there

Default That's about the opposite of my experience.

The hardest part for me was finding the U clip when I took off the gas pedal and it slid under the floor mat.

You've gotta take the throttle pedal off. 2 u clips. FWIR, I think you only have to take 1 off though. Then pop out the old bushings and pop in the new bushings. 45 seconds like you said

If you have a 4kq, you need 2x of 431 721 559. If it's a CGT you need only 1.

Default Why is that a problem?

Just buy a new bushing and clips. Probably cost you $7.

Default The hard part for me was putting the throttle cable into the bushing.

There's zero space to put your hands/arms. Oh well, it's water under the bridge at this point.

Default Not to bad of a job really...

I found it to be a pain in the *** if you leave the lower part of the dash in place while trying to install the bushing.

Turns into a really easy job if you take the lower dash out first (which is also an easy job).

Have done it twice now, once on a 2Bennett loaner car 4KQ (with dash in place - PITA). Once on my 4KCSQ (took out dash - 2 minute job).

Default I remember that now...

I think I snapped it together with a pair of channel locks IIRC. You're right, no room for the hands.
