Default 1990 V8 DRIVE LINE CENTER SUPPORT BEARING

Is there ANYONE who can provide a working part number for a new center support bearing for the driveshaft of my 1990 audi V8? Or, is that now a Voo-Doo part to even ask about?

Audi never sold one separate from the propeller shaft. O34 was making/selling a replacement bearing assembly for Type 44 Audis. What Tom said is a better option than the other part mentioned. You can also get them from a DS place in FL off ebay for less than $50.

Okay thats progress, but "a DS place in FL off Ebay" is a bit vague. DS = Drop Ship? and Florida is a big state and no part number (2580-60) for that on ebay is listed.

Ebay?....not sure what's up with that, but I'd call Powertrain direct.....FWIW 2 people have had lightweight aluminum driveshafts made that did away with the carrier bearing and both loved them....I still may go that route when I have to deal with it. Can't recall who fab'd them (back east), but they basically took the ends and welded a new tube/balanced it. A driveline guy in town told me he could do it. It was a bit more than the bearing itself, but it's way lighter, and that's all good....Tom
