Default 5000q fuel mileage

greetings.

I'm new to the group. I am expanding the family fleet (additional teenage driver very soon).

The acquisition will become my commuter car. Curious what the "real world" MPG numbers are for a non-turbo 5K quattro ? I've got an EPA site bookmarked that lists the car at 19/24.

thanks.

Default A little help please...

yikes - 30 views to this post and no one knows what they get on a tank of gas ?

I'm shopping for another Audi (haven't owned for one for several years), but I need to know what I can expect for gas mileage. My commute is 50 miles each way, so dollars for gas add up...

thanks.

Mine are/have been turbos, so it's apples and oranges. Sorry.

I have 2 type 44 Quattros in the garage at home.

Mine is a 87 5000CS Turbo and my girlfriend has a 87 5000S Non-Turbo.

With a combination of highway and city driving, the non-turbo gets 25 MPG and the turbo gets 22 MPG.

These are real world figures that we get here in Minnesota. During the summer months those figures get a little better.
Hope that helps.

I have an '875KQ and average around 27 mpg. I drive mostly freeways 75 miles a day. I am now running premium fuel since the price dropped to $1.30/ gal in Tacoma.

Default my 87 5kcst gets about 24.5...

but when I reset the clock, it will hold around 27 until I stop. I always run premium.. and its an automatic car. On a good run, I get around 430 miles per tank.. on a bad one, Ive got 395. On my best run, I pushed it to 445, with only 1/4 gallon left.

Does everyone elses 5k stall when its low?? The gas pump flashes (low fuel) and when I hit the brakes to a stop, it stalls. The 'miles til empty' gismo aint very accurate either

About 24 on the open road, a lot less when I'm stepping hard on the loud pedal.

Interesting stuff here. Mine never stalls at low tide but reads 27-31 mpg consistently on highway @80 mph. I thought it was fabulous until I see a tank goes at 425-450 like anyone else. The good is that it runs best on low octane. ???
