I haven't been on this forum in years, mainly because I no longer drive my 5000TQ, but today, while looking through old photos, I came upon photos from 2009 that illustrate a few stages in the replacement of my 1988 5000TQ's center driveshaft bearing. I'm not sure that I ever knew exactly which bearing was supplied by eBay seller snolvr8, but I *think* that it was from a Mercedes-Benz 240D. As you can see, its outer diameter is a little smaller than the 5000TQ's bearing, but its inner diameter is a perfect fit for the driveshaft. After installation, there was a tad bit of rubbing, but it soon stopped and ran smoothly.

I created a new photo album, which I've labeled "5000TQ Center driveshaft replacement". I hope that these photos may help someone. And they remind me to again thank Jason at Autobahn Performance in Fort Lauderdale. He'd performed this operation on other cars and showed me how it's done. I'd have been lost without him.
