Default 91 200 20vtq avant brake upgrade

I have '91 audi 200 avant Quattro 20v turbo with the UFO brakes. Any thoughts on what my options are for upgrading to different brakes? It seems like I've read somewhere about using salvage parts to accomplish this. I'm sure this has been discussed somewhere in this forum but I can't find it.... Thanks for your help.

Audi chose to use the UFO design to get bigger brakes inside 15-inch wheels because, at the time, the highest performance tires came for 15-inch wheels. You can approach UFO performance by going to a larger wheel and "more normal" caliper and rotor set-ups as used on 1992 and later S-cars and V8s. You will need not only larger wheels, but also most of the front suspension pieces.

thanks for the response, Sooo... if I got the brakes and front end out of a 93 V8 model Audi I would have what I need to change the brakes? And it would just swap over and bolt in?

No, that won't work, it much more involved than that.

Here is a link to a MotorGeek discussion on the subject. I have not tried this conversion because my UFO's are good but I would certainly consider it and I think you could get parts at a reasonable cost.

That's interesting...sounds like a pretty straight forward swap. Thank you for the link.
