Anybody replaced a fuel pump recently? got suggestions?
 

I think my fuel pump has died, or is rapidly becomeing terminal. The car ran poorly for about two weeks, during which time I ran most of the tests described in the Bentley manual, without success. now the car will not start. I think it is has finally become time to replace the #$@&ing thing, of course it is the day after I filled up the tank. Anybody have any suggestions, especially since I do not have special tool whatever for removing the fuel pump, and haven't quite figured out how to get the lid off. found it, just haven't puzzled it out yet.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
