Mc 1
I have a mc 1 in my 1990 200. It's running on a Mac 14. I just added the 2nd knock sensor. You could do something similar. I was getting 55mpg at 70mph and smoking sti's. Stock ecu. What engine did your car have to start? And is the mac10a in the 4000 to start? Or is it from the car you got the engine from?

Interesting, I don't know anything about the different ecus. Would the mac14 be a better ecu than a chipped mac10a? I don't know what the 4000 has in it for a ecu it's just a jt 2.2. It runs well but has 200,000 miles on it. The MC1 has 110,000. I'm still planning on putting in some new gaskets and seals on the MC1.

Ecu pin out
You'll definitely want to compare the pin outs of the mac10a to what's in your car now. You may have to swap some pins. Or use the harness from the Donner car. I'd say the mac10a chipped is your best bet . Is the mc1 a turbo motor(mine was)? Are you keeping your C.I.S. system? I haven't work on a 4k yet so my knowledge is limited. They do share many similar systems with the 200s I'm familiar with. Will be reviving a 4k this summer for a friend.

I was pretty much under the assumption that I had to swap the harness over anyway, however I'll check the pins. The MC1 is a turbo motor. I'm pretty excited about it but I'm nervous about the motor swap, it seems pretty involved. For now I'm planning on keeping CIS. Eventually I'll probably go with a megasquirt set up. Here in Alaska I haven't been able to find many resources for people that know much about these old cars.

Bently manual
I'd get one for the donor car. Will save tons of time. Once you get used to them. Hanes has a vague manual that's to broad. But it has some useful info. You'll have a quick car in the end. That 4ks a lot lighter than my 200. And my stock( mc1)with the smaller k24 turbo is quick. Stick with it and you'll get there.
