Audi 5000 reverse polarity
Well this past weekend my 1988 5000 CSQ wouldnt start .Asked some guy in the parking lot for a jump but he connected the cables in reverse polarity. Since then my instrument cluster lights turn on and off when they wanna my "abs off"light is on cant turn it back on. Anybody know how bad the damage could be or how to fix some these problems or am i just gunna need to start checking fuses and relays

well, since 503 people have viewed this and nobody chimed in, I'll throw a weak answer. Your main fuse should have protected the bulk of things, so I'd verify that it's still solid. IF the car starts/runs/drives, be happy. Both my V8's have lights/horns telling me I've got all kinds of problems, but it's all issues with the instrument cluster and the real gauges tell the real story....I just ignore them. Yes, check all your fuses...especially anything related to ABS.....Tom

Once upon a time I was putting a new battery in the boat(dual battery) and crossed it.....melted the battery switch(no fuse) and lost 6' of #4 wire......Will never do that again....Tom
