Default My 1990 v8 quattro. What is this part?

Hey there guys, In the process of repairing a nasty oil leak, the terminals of this sensor? spin instead of the nuts coming loose. I noticed no change after leaving the wires cut so this leads me to believe that it wasnt working to begin with. What is this part and where can I get one? The last 2 pictures I uploaded you can see it attached to the housing still.
Also, I bought this car 3 months ago for 400 bucks canadian . It was in really rough shape mechanically and Ive since replaced the radiator (hard part to find!!!), crank position sensor, fixed the timing belt slap, re-timed the engine because some one else put it together wrong, replaced the blower fan module, fixed the heater door actuator, replaced camshaft seals on back of timing cover, and recently made my own gasket for the housing that the oil cooler lines attach too. (was leaking horribly fast). The car is driving pretty good but things to be addressed are the worn shocks, worn control arms, instrument cluster isnt working correctly and the plastic is spider web style cracked across the face. The oil pressure gauge doesnt work, and the center display is failing (pixels dying). My drivers heated seat doesnt work and the right rear power window doesnt work. Also some one hacked up the original stereo and bypassed the amplifier in the back, I dont know why.
Also I had 4 siezed bolts on the timing cover that I had to weld nuts onto the rounded 12mm heads. Then I used an air hammer to knock em loose. What a difficult job!

This is what my cluster looks like... Maybe sun damage? I was going to pull it out and try to repair the tach not working and just remove the cracked plastic all together I guess.

That"s the oil pressure sending unit. Replace that or the wires and connectors and you should have a working pressure gauge.

It just started leaking really badly today, I cant seem to find a direct replacement however it seems like there are some inexpensive generic sending units that use pipe thread on ebay I might use. tomorrow morning I think Ill pull it off and cap it for now and see what thread is used. It didnt work before hand either. Figures, right after I fixed the distributor oil leak haha. On a plus side, I have shocks and control arms on the way, but I could only afford cheap stuff. Anything will be better than the worn out stuff though.

You should also subscribe to quattroworld.com Forums: 5000/100/200 That site has V8 activity also. Not too much on the old original V8 list, The V8 November 2017 Archive by thread

Someone out there might have a working used one. They don't go bad that often.

Haha temporary fix. Robbed a drainplug from the shop. The sensor uses a metric thread insread of pipe. Ill figure something out later, maybe tap a hole into the drainplug to fit a generic sensor.
