Solved

So I replaced my vacuum pump impeller. And vacuum tested my lines. No vacuum leaks. The pump locks and unlocks all doors. How ever my pump is still timing out. So I vac tested the pump and it doesn't hold vacuum? Any suggestions on further testing or steps for repair? I've also called the pump off and tested it. Still times out locking or unlocking?

You say pump locks/unlocks doors, so not sure why there's a problem(not sure what you mean by time out)....Guessing pump should hold vacuum though so maybe the diaphragm has a pinhole in it or something. I've got a few somewhere in my mess if you need one and verified it's the same as the V8...Tom

From my understanding the

Central locking pump should only run for 4 to 7 seconds. Mine is running for 30second. And it keeps running after all the doors are locked/unlocked. The part # is 443-862-257H. If you have one with that number I would be interested in buying it? With a better understanding I believe I can repair mine. But I don't have a working one to test.

Gotcha, sounds like the pump has a leak if the rest is intact....We got freak snowstorm, so will do some digging later and see if I can find one....Tom

Most likely a leak somewhere or even a broken cam on the back of the drivers door lock cylinder messing with the door lock actuator.

I guess the cam could

Cause the the pump to time out. But I vac tested from where the pump connects to vac. It held 15in hg vac no problem. (Before the lines split and go to each door). I'll have to check the cams. And do a pin out test.

Book says to clamp off hose at pump and actuate lock and verify it either runs longer than 30 seconds(replace pump) or if it shuts off sooner, then remove that clamp and clamp each hose at all 5 actuators and verify which one's leaking. I didn't yet find a pump, but did find a large box full of actuators/locks/etc. FWIW I've had one of the seals pop off trunk actuator before. Good luck, Tom

Vacuum side is working

Now I need to get the pressure side to stop timing out. Found this trick on another forum. Just bend these two tabs by the screwdriver tip closer together.

Now only timing

Out if I unlock the doors from outside with the key. The rest of the time it's functioning correctly. Yodasfro it's strarting to look like I've got a cam problem as well. I think that's covered in my Bently manual.
