driving along in my automobile ....
1993 Audi V8 4.2
whenever I take the car out I will get 15 /20 mins into the drive and the Speedo will fluctuate wildly a few times . I was at a stop light a few days ago and the Speedo fluctuated and the engine stopped dead .
which of the two sensors is not working correctly . ( I have checked the ohms ( resistance ) out and they never show a problem .
RPM Sensor/Engine Speed ?

Crank the engine next time the engine stalls and see if the tach bounce. No bounce and it is the RPM sensor.
If the engine was running and just die, then I would say replace the rpm sensor.

I think they can pass the ohm meter test when cold and then fail when hot.
Like aqv8 says, it's the speed sensor that will kill an operating engine. The ECU needs a signal from that sensor to run the engine. It only needs a signal from the reference sender to start the engine. You can try swapping them to get the engine to run you home or something, but if one is bad the other is likely to go bad soon.
