Default Electrical-ignition switch issue maybe ?

Hi gang,
I could tell that for the last couple of weeks that my battery was going down, but today it was completely dead. OK, got a new one, put in on, car started normal, and just to make sure all the wires going to the custom amp and sound system are on, I tried it, sounds good, then I shut it off. But neither the radio, nor the climate control did not shut off once the key was out of the ignition. For some reason I pushed my finger against the ignition switch and since the door was open, the chime started. It seems to me that even when my key is out, it is still in the number one position. Anyone else experienced anything like this ?
Thanks
