Engine will die if the car is running. Car will not start, tach will not bounce when trying to start the engine. If the flywheel is missing teeths engine will not rev. Speed sensor is a magnetic sensor which reads the teeth on the flywheel producing an AC current which the ECU uses to determine the engine RPM.
