Fluid on the floor - '87 5kqt - HELP!
My '87 5000CS quattro leaks hydraulic fluid on the driver side floorboard from somewhere. I can't figure out where it's coming from! I don't see any noticeable fluid level drop from any of the reservoirs. Clutch and brakes both work fine, though the brake "bomb" might be on its way out given the vibration in the brake pedal and delay in power assist when I stand on the brakes. Any ideas?

I would suspect the hydraulic brake booster, which uses boost from the PS pump to provide power assist to the brakes. If you shine a flashlight underneath the dash (with the kick panel off) you can see it at the end of the brake pedal assembly.

Thanks, a-talk. I will check that. The fluid looks amber, not blue like the hydraulic fluid from the pump, but it could be just because the carpet is dirty.
