Low oil pressure at 4000rpm

Hello

I have problem with my audi V8 3.6L. Oil pressure still at 2bar and if so I go hard warning light blink on dashboard. Oil sender and oil switch Ok. Oil pump with relief valve is Ok. The engine rebuilded with new main bearing on the cranckshaft.

Can you help me?

Thank you

Hey, do you mean @ 4000 RPM your pressure gauge still reads 2? If your pressure gauge reads 2 @ idle and goes up to 5 when driving/4000, that's normal. If the gauge say's 2 @ 4000, and you verified that the sender works, then that's not normal. Could just be your gauge. My 5-speed bleeps at me all the time telling me to check oil/coolant, but I've verified it's in the cluster.....and my pressure gauge works fine, so I just live with the bleeping. If the gauge/sender is working, I'd verify with a different oil pressure gauge since you just had motor work done....Tom

Just curious, but were the main bearings worn and how much? Don't hear a lot about rebuilding 3.6 motors, so just curious what they did? New rings? It's been done, but not that much in the US....and I only personally know 2, but others have done a rering. Tom
