Default weird...

The link says MAC-14 but the file says MAC11c4. Any idea why?
The 87 is MAC11 so the links got that part right.

Default Chip type

Are most people recoding their existing EPROM's with this code, or putting them on another chip and swapping them? What type of chip is it, and what type of socket is it if I want to socket my ecu?

Thanks,

Ken

Default Re: Chip type

From what i understand, factory chip is just plain PROM or whatever, so its not re-programmable.

I wish i knew which model of chip guys are using for writing and replacing..

Default I'm also confused...

I thought is was modded for the MAC-14, which is for the (88)89-91 MC-2 200s.
Which is what I happen to need.
typo?

Default The chip is...

factory programmed. It is a Hitachi part (surprise surprise) with MAC-11C stamped on it. It is a PROM not an EPROM or EEPROM and so cannot be re-programmed. Besides, the parts a glued to the PCB and I agree with Ben that it is best to cut the leads and remove the chip instead of trying to save the original chip. The QLCC code works so well you won't want the original IMHO. The Hitachi part number is: HN61364P and is a 28 pin IC.

For replacement chips I used the AM27C64 part EPROM. Data sheets and substitue parts are available from several different manufacturers. If you are still stuck I'll post a link to a data sheet.
