Default Where does the blue exciter wire hooks on the other end of the alt?

Car is a 200 Turbo Aut. '89
Sorry to post this and being so "direct", but I have been looking around searching in the forum and I canīt seem to get a definite answer.

I read about the blue exciter wire making a circuit between the alt and the charging light bulb at the Instrument panel ( the red one with the battery icon in it).

But, physically, if I follow the blue wire starting FROM the alternator, where should I see the next stop? Even though that I have read that it closes a circuit with the low battery light, where does the other end go ( the one from the battery light?

Also, I am guessing that the blue wire will somehow be in the big cable connector to the IP. Is that correct or does it run "on its own"? In this case, is the blue wire physically plugged from the alternator to one of the pins in the big connector?

Sorry to be so "dum", but my car seems to have 2 blue wires, and one of them is cut, so I donīt really know which one should I follow....

Thanks a million
