is cold? The problem seems to go away after driving for a while. I am going to replace the plugs as I am beginning to worry it could be the injectors or fuel distributor? car lags a bit when I accelerate much worse in the morning. Feels like engine has bad gas.

could be all those things you mention, but probably not fuel distributor.
Suggest tune up with plugs and distributor cap, if it has been a while.
A can of good fuel injector cleaner may help too.

Does it shutter and hesitate till 2K and pull nice till about 5K?
I may have the same problem too. I replaced the MFTS because the gauge wasn't working and it only amplified the problem. Curious to see how you make out. I replaced the plug with platinum Bosch 4 pin type, no help. I'm going to OHM the wires and use my new wire tester to see if the wires are not transfering spark to the plugs. When I replaced the plugs, 2 looked darker than the others.
