Default 20 inches of fresh powder in Boulder! Will stiff struts make snow handling worse? What to buy?

I am a winter storm chaser in Boulder and with a 91Coupe (Blizzaks), and OE struts with 154,000 miles. I posted last week about new struts. I am still confused on what to buy. The front OE struts sag noticeably when you brake hard, accelerate but still seem to handle well with minimal bobbing on bumps. Is this sag when stopping normal or are they worn? I am leaning towards Boge Turbo Gas as a replacement but do not want a super stiff ride. Also , I often wonder if some sag and forgiveness aids in the winter cornering at speed since it offers some give versus a stiff strut that forces the energy more into the front end directly. Any truth to this? what strut is best for a good compromise? Some replied last week that KYB is too stiff? Are the Boge Turbo exactly what is in my Coupe now?

Howdy! Yes you will want a softer setup for optimal snow handling. I have run very stiff suspension setups in snow and it made the cars considerably more twitchy and prone to sliding. You've got good snow tires, Blizzaks are fantastic, and that is the first step. A spot on alignment with all important components tight, tie rod ends, control arm bushings, and so on is another requirement for good snow handling.

Cheers!

Only about 4 inches in colo. springs... winter would be more fun if there weren't other cars though!

Default No. Get Boge Progas if you want a good all-around shock.

Boge is the OEM supplier.
