3rd brake light

I need my 3rd brake light before my car will pass inspection. Do I have to purchase a new assembly or is there an easy way to replace the lightbulb?

Bulbs are easy to replace.

Push buttons in on housing and slide off. Bulbs turn 1/4 CC and pull out. Remove bulb from holder and replace with new. They go in a certain way, so be sure to note this when removing bulb from holder.

be careful not to break the clips when you remove the cover

the clips are part of the housing, and not the cover. So when you break one of the clips, it's not as simple as replacing the cover. And without the clip, the cover rattles around. Very annoying.
