Default Anyone found an Optima battery configuration that works in the 12V 90 battery tray??

I have the yellow top "sport compact" Optima I was going to mount in the trunk on my A4 and will get around to as time permits in the trunk of the 90. It's a much smaller footprint battery than normal Group 34 batteries our cars are made for. Problem is it's taller. If I try to use it temporarily on the battery tray it's terminals would touch and short out against the hood when closed.

Last night I bought a red top Optima to hold me over til I get the trunk-mounted yellow top lightweight battery mounted and the terminals on the red top are on the wrong side. And the cables in the 90 are too short to reach it in ANY orientation. Basically the positive/negative terminals are on opposite sides of the Red Top battery as compared to the batteries that came on our cars and the cables are too short to reach.

On the A4 it was a cakewalk to mount the red top but the "up-front" tray in the 90 doesn't want to cooperate. Anyone found an Optima configuration that bolts right in, looks stock and retains the plastic battery cover on the 90??

Thanks!
