Anyone pull off the rubber door molding?

The molding that is about 2-3" thick on the doors, anyone remove this, or repair it for that matter. The drivers side is peeling back a bit. I was thinking of just removing it all, but wasnt sure if there were holes underneath anywhere.

There aren't holes, but there are metal pegs that hold on the clips that hold the trim.

so basically, I cant just pull it off without doing body work. So, does anyone know a good way to get the peeling part back down?

The reason the peel is because the rubber bits have a metal core that rusts away and stops holding tight to the plastic clips attached to the door. only way to fix is to replace/remove

The trim slides off from front to back on the plastic guides. There are plastic barbed wedges on the front and back to hold it in place. These rust and eventually fall out somewhere.
The "pins" are actually nail heads and the plastic guides snap over the head. It can be tricky to remove them, you need a small flat screwdriver to push in the plastic barb and push them down and off.

The door trim warps because inside the rubber is flat metal for tension, this rusts and it loses it's tension.

I replaced all 4 door strips 4 years ago, they were in short supply judging from the fact all 4 pieces had to be sourced from various warehouses even in Canada.

They are also not cheap but if you want it done right that's the only route.

The price has gone up quite a bit since I bought mine, supply/demand.

$104 each front
$95 each rear

I don't recall paying that much but it was a few years ago.
More around 70/54.

wow, that is crazy money,I think i might just pull all the trim and shave the mounts since im gonna rally x the car anyways. Thats just too much mony to put into a $3k car imo.

Yeah, no sense in dumping $400 in trim if you are going to beat on the car doing x-rally.
