My abs light has come on and wondered if anyone could suggest some causes.

Usually it is one of the wheel sensors..rust or other material will get on the magnet or the connections at the plug connector will become corroded.

If you have a VCDS or a buddy with one..you can look for a fault.

I do not know if a regular OBD-2 tester will help find the fault ..most auto parts stores have a OBD-2 box for testing for free ..it may be worth check it out.
