The coolant reservoir is showing coolant is being lost and requires top up of about 300ml every 500km (short running). No coolant in the oil. Motor is running smoothly.
On cold mornings steam comes our of LHS of bonnet - either from where bonnet meets quarter panel or from under wheel arch. This lasts for a few minutes until the temperature is at normal running level. A check of the hoses at the radiator and the head and around the reservoir shows no indication of leak. There is evidence of coolant on the ground under the car after it has been stationary for a few hours.
Any suggestions about the cause are most welcome.
