I know this is asking a lot, but I will be pulling my steering wheel to put a new wiper stalk on and thought I'd take the opportunity to pull the instruments as a couple of the bulbs are out. I don't have a Bentley, so I'm wondering if someone would be kind enough to tell me how many bulbs and what type/part number I need. I am looking for the illumination bulbs.

I would like to get the bulbs on hand beforehand as obviously the Audi is disabled once I pull the instruments and I'd like to toss them back in ASAP in one evening.

My vehicle is a 1990 90 20V. Thanks!

So, would I be able to order these by the color of the base, then? Get 9 red/orange base bulbs, and 2 blue base bulbs and I've renewed the entire guage illumination? Or is it more complex than that - like some red/orange bulbs are type x and other red/orange bulbs are type y?

Update - so Autohauz sells the orange base bulb which I assume is the same as the orange base bulb on the photo. But what about the two blue base bulbs? Are they actually different? Seems odd that 2 of 11 gauge lights would be different and makes me wonder if coincidentally the photo is of a guage set a previous owner put a couple blue based aftermarket bulbs in. No clue.

So I guess if someone knew that all 11 should be orange base I'd be set.

Wow, that is a NICE difference. Any idea on sources for the 2w? I ordered the 1.2w but would gladly toss them for that big a difference. I have all the bases, in case you know of a source for bulbs only to insert in them. TX! Looks great and better for my old eyes.

So a quick shoutout to Varia and others who gave input on this. Almost 5 years later, I finally got around to both the wiper stalk swapout (worked!) and the light bulb swap for the 2.0W bulbs (vs factory at 1.2). Excellent mod - thank you so much, guys. We took the Quattro to dinner for fun and the gauges were brilliant, yet I could dim them all the way down to where I like them for long distance night driving. Really appreciate the help and input. That was tribal knowledge, pure and simple.
