Coupe 2.6E Exhaust ?
I'm after a middle and rear box for my 1995 2.6E Coupe.
But first I'dm wondering if anyone has a doagram of what the original system is supposed to look like.
I'm sure mine is bodged and that the miidle and rear sections are incorrect.
If anyone knows a good source of Exhaust parts for this car, I'd love to know please>>

honestly the easiest and most cost effective way is to have a muffler shop replace sections it with stainless. They have books with diagrams, and its usually pretty obvious where a hanger should be and they can weld on hangers and put on the rubber mounts

You really didnt give any info on whats wrong with the exhaust, noisey, sagging, dragging, banging against things. Just doesnt look right? If the car really isnt worth it than why do you care at all about the exhaust? Put cheap steel exhaust on it if its a beater

I care because the car has to be legal to be used on the road??
If it sounds like a Tank, I'm going to get pulled pretty soon.....
On examination the exhause has has the down pipes welded together.
The downpipes have been welded to the cat (Badly), The Middle box is about to drop off and there is no Back Box at all.
The Back box has been replced over the axle with a length of pipe, which is welded to the Middle box...
Hopefully this gives a clearer picture of the condition of the exhaust.
I would have thought that any owner would consider carefully the cost of replacing any component to his/her vehicle if the cost of the component + the fitting charge, would add up to several times the value of the vehicle in question.
For Prospeeder the costs break down like this..
1 x 1995 Audi Coupe 2.6E purchase cost = £500
2 x V6 Exhuast Down Pipes (inc Fittings) = £112
1 x V6 Catalyst (Inc Fittings) = 106
1 x V6 Middle Box (inc fittings) = £269
1 x V6 Rear Box (inc fittings) = £79
Labour cost to remove/refit Exhuast System = £260
Total cost = £826.
Hope that clears up any confusion

Is this of any use PB? This fellow is in Luxembourg. His prices may be better than real OEM and if everything you need is not available from him, perhaps you can do a mix of his and OEM parts.

I can't imagine that a £79 rear box would last the 23 years that my genuine OEM one did. If nothing else this will give you an idea of what it could look like.
For the front half of your system, it may be very similar to any v6 model? Is yours a quattro?
Here in North America Bentley Publishers makes the factory repair manuals which has plenty of illustrations, however your model won't be covered, perhaps you can find the Euro equivelant.
Hope this helps
