I had to do something drastic to get the cone filter away from the hot engine, there was a piece of thin sheet metal in between a lower opening. I took advantage of this. Car actually sounds amazing in between this and the exhaust. Runs much more spirited and does not lag after it starts to warm up (breathing in hot air).

I sanded off the groves on the plug of the 3" MAF. It is a plugNplay swap. I will see how it runs, so far so good. I believe the fourth pin needs to be tweaked so the resistance is proper, but as of right now it runs nice and smooth.

Final product, forgot to take a quick picture after the new hose clamps were on. Those zip ties were only temporary.

Default Looking for something else, that is a little bit more on the flexible side.

Drove it about 40 miles like it is now. Runs great. Drove the air intake hosing and filter for over 300 miles, runs fantastic. I would like to replace it with silicone, we will see.

Default Looks like your having fun, but the ribbed tubing....

Car manufacturers used to use ribbed tubing on the inside of the seemingly smooth intake tubes to slow down air flow (they also used neck downs and other ways of slowing and defining the intake)..

You corrected him on "your" but not per se? Also how about your irrelevant ellipsis? XD

Default Didn't 034 determine that large bore MAF swap on 7As had no effect??

They tried to do it but their dyno showed no increase in power, thus no new software for that.

Also, I would route your filter elsewhere...any stronger rain you get caught in may result in this:
